Synopsis: |
Colima County, Texas, has banned cattle from fever-ridden Sage County. Morgan and Conner are two unscrupulous schemers who have bought up thousands of head for a song because of the disease. Attempting to drive their cattle to a railroad by crossing a corner of Colima County, they are spotted by Marjorie Miller, daughter of the Sheriff. Gene Autry and Frog Millhouse are members of a traveling medicine show that land in the midst of this Texas cattle war. Gene rescues Marjorie from the crooked cattlemen and when her father is shot by the gangsters, Morgan orders the election of a new sheriff. Gene runs against Morgan's man and, with the help of Marjorie, he is elected. He organizes the honest ranchers into a showdown battle that ends with the capture of both Morgan and Conner. Marjorie and her father, now recovered, persuade Gene to remain in Colima County permanently.
