On July 23, 1950, The Gene Autry Show aired for the first time on network television. Gene Autry was the first movie star to make a regular series for television. Each episode was an original half-hour program and, like his very popular movies, each featured Gene’s trademark elements of action, humor and music. Gene sang new arrangements of his classic cowboy tunes and even performed several rare songs. In addition to being the star of the show, he also produced the program through his own Flying A Pictures. The Gene Autry Show originally aired from 1950 to 1956 on CBS with a total of 91 episodes.

The Gene Autry Show: The Complete 1950s Television Recordings is a three CD set featuring 109 performances by Gene Autry from the landmark television series, including a few with the Cass County Boys and Pat Buttram. The masters are from Gene Autry's personal archives and have been fully restored and digitally remastered. Liner notes by historian Allen J. Wiener and images from the television episodes complete this package, which are sure to bring back memories of the golden age of television.
