City of Santa Clarita, CA Cowboy Festival
April 25 26, 2009
Posted March 20, 2009
We continually hear from Gene Autry fans who would like to visit the Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio and we think that the City of Santa Clarita's annual Cowboy Festival is the best time to check it out! This year's event held on the grounds of Melody Ranch will be Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th. As you walk the streets of the Old West town, you'll enjoy great Western music and Cowboy Poetry, authentic cowboy gear and food, Film Location Tours and much, much more.

There are other activities earlier in the week for the Cowboy Festival not on the grounds of Melody Ranch as well. Visit the City of Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival website for details and ticket information here.
Read about Gene Autry's connection to Melody Ranch in our Places Special to Gene Autry section here.

We think Gene Autry fans will be especially interested to visit the festival's "Buckaroo Book Shop" hosted by OutWest Marketing, where authors such as Petrine Day Mitchum, Cheryl Rogers-Barnett, and the official Gene Autry biographer Holly George-Warren will be on hand to sign books. Other special events at the "Buckaroo Book Shop" will be DVD signings by Denny Miller of Wagon Train, During Buckaroo Story Time children's authors "Cowgirl Peg," Joni Harms, Jack Hannah and others will engage young and old alike with lively readings and Uncle Rock will perform. You'll find information on all the participants' appearances here.

If you have questions on the authors or their books, please contact OutWest Marketing.
