Gene Autry sings the popular ballad "When You and I were Young, Maggie" in Season 2, Episode 17 of The Gene Autry Show entitled "The Lawless Press." The song was originally a poem by George W. Johnson to the girl he fell in love with, Margaret Clark. George's friend, James Butterfield, put the poem to music.
