Synopsis:
Ace postal inspector Gene Autry, known as "The Whirlwind," arrives in Red Bluff to work with postal inspector Smiley Burnette in the investigation of a series of mail robberies. Gene becomes suspicious of Big Jim Lassitter, uncle of pretty Elaine Lassitter. U.S. Postal Bonds are stolen in a bank holdup and Smiley finds burned fragments of them on the Lassitter Ranch. Big Jim's henchman Wade Trimble confesses that Big Jim killed his own brother to rob Elaine of her estate and is also guilty of the mail robberies. Gene rounds up Big Jim and the crooked elements of Red Bluff.
