Sing Me a Song of the Saddle
from Yodelin' Kid from Pine Ridge (1937)


Gene Autry co-wrote “Sing Me a Song of the Saddle” with Frank Harford and it was an important song in Gene's career. He performed it in three films and in three episodes of The Gene Autry Show plus it was the theme song of his Melody Ranch Radio Show for a year. Gene's first film use of "Sing Me a Song of the Saddle" is in the 1937 film Yodelin' Kid from Pine Ridge while he is riding his horse Champion.
